Events Policy

Non-profit groups and organizations are welcome to attend and participate in any and all community events hosted by Historic Downtown Kendallville by providing an activity related to the theme (i.e., at the Fairy, Gnome and Troll Festival, an activity for children that fits the festival theme; at the Car Show, a car-related activity or merchandise for families/adults).

While information about the sponsoring organization and its services may be available at the event, participating organizations are not allowed to engage in partisan political activity or propaganda* related to their organization. This includes the display, distribution, or use of signs, banners, flags, symbols, insignia, monuments, gestures, etc. as they relate to any political party affiliations, political candidate, divisive social issues, or topic of a political nature.

In order to remain neutral and non-partisan in any and all circumstances, Historic Downtown Kendallville staff and board members reserve the right to deny participation - at their discretion - by organizations who do not meet the above criteria.

*Propaganda is defined as the systematic effort to influence or manipulate other people’s beliefs, attitudes, or actions by means of symbols (words, gestures, banners, monuments, and so forth).
